Luberry Sleep Counseling — there may be tears, but never alone

Questions

The things you might be wondering.

Will my baby cry during the process?+

They might. Change can be frustrating, and crying is how babies tell us how they feel. I won't promise a tear-free journey. What I can promise is that your baby won't be left to face those feelings alone — you'll be right there, comforting and responding, and we'll adjust if things feel like too much.

Will I ever have to leave my baby crying alone?+

No. That's the heart of my approach. You remain present — physically and emotionally — throughout. There may be tears, but never alone.

What makes your approach different from cry-it-out?+

Cry-it-out methods generally involve leaving a baby to settle without a parent responding. In my approach, you stay with your baby and respond to their cues while we make gradual changes. Many loving parents choose other methods; this is simply a different option for families who want to stay close.

Can I continue breastfeeding?+

Yes. Breastfeeding, including at night, is completely welcome. We'll work with your feeding choices, not against them. If you have feeding concerns, I'd also encourage support from a lactation professional or your health visitor.

Can I still rock or cuddle my baby to sleep?+

Absolutely. Rocking, cuddling and feeding to sleep aren't bad habits. If they're working for you, keep them. If they've become hard to sustain, we can look at gentle adjustments — only if and when you want to.

What if my baby becomes frustrated with changes?+

That's understandable, and it's okay. We'll slow down, offer more comfort, and listen to what your baby is telling us. Frustration supported by a loving parent is very different from distress faced alone.

What if I am too exhausted to continue?+

Then we pause, and we talk. Your exhaustion is real and deserves care. We can simplify, take smaller steps, or think about what support you might have around you. If you're struggling with your mood or mental health, please reach out to your doctor too — you deserve that care.

How long does gentle sleep support take?+

Honestly, it varies. Every baby and family is different, and gentle change often happens gradually. I won't give you a timeline I can't stand behind — we'll go at a pace that works for you.

Is this approach suitable for toddlers?+

Yes. Toddlers have their own big feelings, growing independence and changing sleep needs. The same principles apply: presence, connection, and realistic, age-appropriate expectations.

Have a question I haven't answered?
